Scarecrow-in-a-Pot! Discover Scarecrow Making at Bemis Farms Nursery in Spencer, Massachusetts—an autumn delight for children and families. Your Scarecrow-in-a-Pot adventure begins with a frame pre-attached to a fall garden pot, ready for your creative touch. Dress it up with your choice of shirts, hay-stuffed head, and whimsical 'hair.' Add to the charm by planting vibrant mums and enjoying admission to The Pumpkin Path for family fall fun. It's a fantastic fall fundraiser idea where each Scarecrow purchase contributes to local causes.
Join us for a memorable day of pumpkin picking, children's fall activities, and community support, raising about $100,000.00 so far!
2025:
$25 with Early Registration (before midnight the Thursday before).
Late or Walk-in Registration, $30 at the door, subject to available space.
$10 from each scarecrow goes to support local organizations. When you arrive you will choose the organization you would like to support.
Each scarecrow purchased includes admission for 1 adult and 1 child to the Pumpkin Path. Additional tickets are $5
Everyone on our farm feels very proud of this activity, and we are thrilled to be able to emphasize the "fun" in FUNdraiser!
If you would like your organization (Scout troop, animal shelter, PTA group, whatever) to be involved contact [email protected] and inquire. The more active a group is, the more funds they can raise.

Do I need to bring anything?
No. All supplies are included.
Do I pay extra to go to the Pumpkin Path?
Your Scarecrows for Solutions registration includes two tickets to the Pumpkin Path. Additional tickets, either child or adult, are $5 each
I have 4 people in my group. Do I need to purchase 4 scarecrows?
Not unless you want 4 scarecrows. The fee is per scarecrow. Sometime folks make one scarecrow per group. Other times they make one per child to avoid, shall we say, disagreements. But the choice is yours. Each scarecrow purchased includes 2 Pumpkin Path tickets.
Why does it cost $5 more today than if I had Early Registered?
Early Registration makes our planning much easier and smoother. Look at the $5 as a convenience fee. You are still able to register for any future weekend at the $25 rate.
If I purchase 2 scarecrows, do I still only get 2 tickets in total?
That wouldn't be very nice of us, would it? Fair is fair! Each scarecrow purchased includes 2 Pumpkin Path tickets.
Besides price, what are the differences between Early vs. Late vs. Walk-in Registrations?
Everyone who is Early Registered has a sticker with their name awaiting them. Those who have not Early Registered still may do so online, but there may be a slight delay when you arrive, while we prepare the label.
What time do I have to arrive?
The fun starts at 10 am and goes until 4 pm, come when it's convenient within that window.
Do you have a corn maze?
In 2025 we have a pallet maze instead of corn. Our corn had extremely bad germination, so we have substituted pallets for 2025 only.
