Please note these are archived classes for reference only.

Since Ed and I don’t have any immediate plans for a vacation this summer, I decided to add a few more Sunday afternoon classes. The last 4 should give you years of enjoyment. Please note special pricing if you take all five.

Sun. July 5 4 pm Cleanovich $29 Our annual “leftovers” party. Bring 2 or 3 of your own large (10-14”) pots, or several small (6-8”) pots, or choose from a selection of ours. Choose any 12 Thrillers, Chillers, Fillers and Spillers, plus as many 6 pack annuals you need to fill in your containers. A $70 value, and loads of fun!
Sun. July 22 4 pm  Hobbit House $29

If you enjoyed our Fairy House class (and boy, did a lot of people love this class!) you might want to make this Hobbit House and start a fantasy garden. The picture is just an approximation – it’s a picture I found online. We will be building the hobbit garden on a mound of soil covered with real, grass sod and interesting succulents. Includes a round hobbit-style door.

Sun. July 29 4 pm

Tufa Stone Trough Garden $29

Create your own weathered trough garden container with a mixture of cement, peat moss and perlite. It’s made on a 16” oval or round pot, so the finished size is about 2 feet across. Let it dry here for a few days, and come pick it up and fill it with succulent Spillers and Jeepers Creepers. If you like a real stony look, don’t wait longer than 2 days to pick it up. Then you can use a wire brush on the flat, top side to make it look really old. This is a fun but messy project, so please wear old clothes, and bring plastic gloves.

Serene Buddha & Greek God $29

Another messy yet unique project. Mix and tint concrete, and pour it into 2 different face molds. Then, simply lay a 6 Inch wide clay pot into the concrete. In a couple of days, after they dry, pop them out of the mold. And here’s where the fun comes in! What kind of hairdo will you create - a flowering vine tress or a spiky grass or two? The plants used in these pots will do well both indoors and out, so you can bring them inside at season’s end.
Sun. Aug. 12 4 pm

Sweet Autumn Trellis $29

Train a perennial sweet autumn clematis up a wooden ladder. Under plant with a winter-hardy chrysanthemum and some perennial Chillers and Spillers for an explosion of blooms to jumpstart your fall. The picture shows what your clematis will look like for years to come in you autumn garden.

Participants will leave with a completed project to enjoy as well as to show off to their friends, family and neighbors. Workshops are priced above. The price on the $29 workshops drops to $25 each if one person signs up for three or more total workshops. If one person signs up for all five, it is $99 total!

Please note the photos are similar to the final project. In order to have photos ready well in advance of class there may be some differences. In many cases photo is from a previous year and the exact container may no longer be available.

Many workshops fill up quickly, so be sure to reserve your space early. Pre-registration and prepayment are required. Refunds will be given up to 24 hours before workshop time, after that we will gladly save your materials for a week for you to come get.
