[Home] [Up] [do the twist]
| |
At Last! The spring seminar workshop list! It took so long in coming
because we bought so many cool things this year, and we invented some great, new
classes, but we had trouble finding pictures that matched our creativity. After
endless hours of searching the internet for images, we think we have come up
with our best spring seminar list yet. It is full of “fan favorites,” classes
like living wreaths, hanging baskets, window boxes, and herb and veggie gardens,
but sprinkled with just the right amount of new, unique, and whimsical workshops
for all of the veterans who’ve been coming for years.
Plus, we have a new feature this year: all of our classes are named after a
classic song. As I was naming each class, I couldn’t help humming the song, so
we thought we’d put a link on each workshop so you can watch and listen to it
too. It will open in a new YouTube window. We hope you like the feature…please let us know if you use it. (We
challenge you to read the name of the class “Do the Twist” without humming the
song and swiveling your hips a little while you are sitting at your desk!)

Endless
Love
$39 |
Plant an
“Endless Summer” hydrangea in a classic, blue, glazed pot to enjoy a
summer of endless love.
Endless summer hydrangeas are our #1
selling shrub- because of a breeding breakthrough, they bloom all summer
on "same-year" wood, meaning the flower buds don't have to endure our
cold winters. That is the number one reason the old varieties
failed to bloom well in central Massachusetts (as opposed to on the
Cape, and in Rhode Island.)
This class is full. No more materials are
available.

This class is full. We were not able
to get any more chairs. For anyone already registered we are splitting

Our
favorite perennial vine races to the top of a metal obelisk. (Yes, I
know the picture shows a wooden one.) Spillers create a color cascade

necessity when growing clematis.

If you want to paint your wooden window
box, come in and pick it up ahead of time to do so. The wood is
unfinished, and can be painted or stained to match your home.
The plastic window box is terra-cotta
colored, and can be painted as well, but looks fine as is.

Over
the Rainbow
$29 |
Clay pots
stacked into a 4 foot tipsy pot, dripping with a rainbow of colorful
flowers. This picture is of our bookkeeper, Dawn's home, showing
the actual plants we used last year.
She said all of her neighbors remarked about how interesting, colorful,
and unique this planter was. This used to be a deluxe class for
$10 more, but we figured out a less expensive way to make the frame
inside that holds it all up. This really should be a deluxe class
because of the clay pots, but I got a great overstock deal from one of
my pottery suppliers. So make sure to take this class this year. I
may not get that great deal ever again. BEST VALUE!
This class is full at both 10 am and 7
pm but two additional ones are scheduled for 11:30 am on Wed May 6, and
also for 7 pm on Thursday May 7 at 7 pm.

Hey
there, Dahlia
$29 |
Giant
dahlias complimented with compatible fillers and spillers create bold
elegance. You'll learn how to grow these babies from tubers
(bulb-like roots) and get to choose at least two dahlia colors to plant.
This old-fashioned plant is making a big comeback in new England,
perhaps because of our frugality...this roots of this "annual" can
actually be stored inside for the winter to be planted out again next
year, as it is actually a perennial, just not hardy here in New England
winters.

Do the
Twist
$39 |
C’mon
baby! You know you want this. Also works on a lamppost, column, or
railing. It uses one whole tray of 48 impatiens to fill the reusable
plastic tube. Consider getting another tray of impatiens to plant
at the base to continue the spiral effect. Even though the impatiens
sale will be over, we will hold the sale price for anyone taking this
class who wants to match or contrast the flowers in their spiral.
Click on picture for more examples.
This class is full but a second one
has been scheduled for 7 pm on Wednesday May 20.
