Container Gardening Workshops

Join hundreds of successful gardeners who have let their creative juices flow in our workshops. Learn to attractively combine the latest plants into traffic-stopping displays. Create contemporary designs and time-less classics with the healthiest flowers and foliage around. Standard workshops use realistic resin pots, or wire frames with moss. Deluxe work-shops have ceramic, terra cotta, and other pots that sizzle with style.

May 9 Pink Ribbon Pouches

2 pouches with Accent Miracle impatiens, a designated "Pink Ribbon" plant, so we donate a portion of this class to the Susan G. Koman Foundation for breast Cancer research. A great class to bring a mother, daughter, sister or friend.

 

 

 

 

 

May 16 Floral Feast
Edible flowers such as nasturtium and tagetes in a gorgeous wall jar in sage green, sandstone or terra-cotta.

 

 

 

May 23 Planting in the Round
A living wreath with Accent Miracle impatiens, one of many plants we carry whose proceeds we donated to breast cancer research. A great class to bring your mother, daughter, sister, or friend. Very popular class, call early!

See how high you can get a Black-Eyed Susan vine to grow on a twig trellis.

 

 

June 6 Sunshine and Shadows
New 3-tiered "faux topiary" class featuring pastel yellow daisies.

 

 

June 13 Plants in your Pants
A new classic in blue jeans! If you took "Bloomin' Boots" this spring, add to your cameo (themed) garden with this one.

June 20 Is Dad Worth...a hill of beans?
Celebrate Father's day by bringing your dad, or just come yourself. Plant beans and cucumbers in a burlap sack.

June 27 Playing with a Full Deck?
Low bowl of unique plants with leaves shaped like hearts, spades clubs and diamonds! Flowers to match.

 

 

July 11 Cleanovich
"Our "leftovers" party. Purchase containers or bring your own. You get a set amount of potting soil, 12 "specialty" annuals and all the six-packs you need to "fill-in". A $60 value!

Just as in life, you never know what you are going to get, but you can count on velvety-chocolate foliage plants with complimentary flowers in a wooden box.

June 23 High and Dry
Drought-tolerant living wreath with succulents and cheery portulaca.

 

 

June 30 Biblical Bucket
Use plants that are referenced in the bible in a galvanized bucket.

 

 

 

July 7 Angel and Devil
Surround a glorious Angel's Trumpet (Brugmansia) with Devil's Eye (Vinca). You will have stunning, night-fragrant flowers all summer and fall. Bring inside for the winter as a houseplant.

June 15 English Hayrack
Traditional wrought iron window box with a coco-fiber liner filled with summer annuals. Join our Hayrack Club and you will replant the rack again in the fall with cool-loving plants, and again in November with winter greens and ribbons. $45 summer only $69 club

Large moss hanging basket loaded with non-stop begonias. $35

 

June 29 Musical Miniature
Learn the very old Asian art form of Bonsai by "sculpting" a juniper bush into a miniature tree. Finish off by planting in a pot, making a mini bamboo pergola, then suspend a small wind chime. $45

 

 

July 6 Alpine Appeal
Bring plastic gloves for this messy, fun project that uses a wet mixture of cement, perlite and peat moss. You actually make the "tufastone" pot! Needs to dry, so pick up next week and fill with alpine plants. $35

 

Spring 2004 Workshop Registration

Participants will leave with a completed project to show off to their friends, family and neighbors.
Those Bloomin' Pots
workshops on Sundays and Wednesdays are $20.00 each if one person signs up and takes three or more, for one or two the cost is $25.00 each. The Deluxe Workshops workshops on Tuesdays are priced individually.

Many workshops fill up quickly, so be sure to reserve your space early. Pre-registration and prepayment are required. If you can not attend refunds will be given up to 24 hours before workshop time, after that we will gladly save your materials for a week for you to come get.
