Succulent Tree

$29

With the recent trends of going green, Savvy Succulents are in vogue as they don't need a lot of water or fertilizers to flourish. Be the first to create a living tree in this brand new class. This is Tina's favorite in the fall series. Our greenhouse gang has been busy for the last 2 months taking thousands of succulent cuttings so we will have plenty to work with.  You can enjoy your little tree outside until the end of October, then bring it inside for the winter in a sunny windowsill.  You can customize it in November by adding a few dried flowers or berries to create a  a harvest theme tree for Thanksgiving, and your own cute little ornaments on it as a tabletop Christmas tree.

Hydrangea Harvest Workshop

Create 3 beautiful decorations in one afternoon! Craft a 22" wreath and a matching tabletop topiary with freshly picked Pee Gee hydrangea flowers. Beautiful cream, chartreuse & mauve blossoms will finish drying in your home, and will last 1- 2 years. Then create a spectacular container garden featuring a real, live Pee Gee hydrangea shrub and some fantastic fillers. Later, plant it in your garden, and you'll be able to harvest your own flowers for years to come! See the top picture of a full-grown Pee Gee hydrangea tree.  It can be kept pruned much smaller if you'd like, but it has the potential to get about 12 to 15 feet tall.  Think of all the hydrangea wreaths you'll be able to make yourself in a few years! Space is limited, so please register early!

Layered Bulb Pot

$29

If you had to choose just one class, we highly recommend this one. We really cram about $50 of bulbs into an oval pot by planting them in layers. We over-winter it here in the greenhouses that are heated to 32 degrees for 14 weeks so they can be tricked into thinking they are underground. You pick up the pot in February, put it inside a cool sunny window, and you will have blooms for a month. All just when you think winter will never end. This is one of the most highly rated classes we have. Each year over 100 people signed up for this class so we add additional class times during the day so that everyone has plenty of space and materials. Pickup day is Feb. 14, 2009 at 10 am. More info on where to go and how to care for them is here.

Please note the photos are similar to the final project. In order to have photos ready well in advance of class there may be some differences. In many cases photo is from a previous year and the exact container may no longer be available.

Many workshops fill up quickly, so be sure to reserve your space early. Pre-registration and prepayment are required. Refunds will be given up to 24 hours before workshop time, after that we will gladly save your materials for a week for you to come get.
