Winter Workshops
"At first, nobody believed me. As each guest arrived, I was asked 'Where did you get that beautiful evergreen arrangement on your doorstep?' I told them I made it myself. Skeptical looks, furtive glances and rolled eyes told me what they thought of my creative talents. When we went into the living room, where I displayed my matching wreath, the questions began again. By the time they saw the centerpiece on my dining room table the only way to convince them that I had, in fact made them myself, was to show them the Bemis Farms Nursery Workshop flyer."
Our customers share stories like this over and over this is the time of the year. We love to help you stretch the boundaries of your creativity, and help you discover talents you (and your friends!) didn't know existed. During the growing season, by planting the proper plants then keeping them well watered and fertilized, you can almost simply stand back and watch your containers magically transform into works of Living Art. In the fall and winter, however, it is up to you to harvest the bounty of the growing season (evergreens, dried flowers, fruits, berries, cones and pods) then arrange them into pleasing combinations to decorate your home. Sometimes it can seem a little intimidating, so we're here to help.
For the past 15 years, we have connected thousands of people with their inner artist (a few at a time) by guiding them each step of the way, as they transform the elements of nature into stunning wreaths, centerpieces and other Living Home Décor. Would you like to be one of the many people we've overhead exclaim "I can't believe I made this myself!"? Then join us for some of our workshops.
It couldn't be any easier or more relaxing. We gather all the materials for you (and even clean up afterwards!). You'll feel yourself start to unwind the moment you begin snipping the fresh, evergreen boughs. Because they immediately release their unmistakable fragrance into the air while pleasant Holiday music drifts from above. Soon, colorful decorations begin to emerge from the non-descript piles of greenery, ribbons, and natural ornaments.
Bart and Tina spend September and October designing new classes for our veteran workshop participants, and this year was no exception. This time, however, we challenged ourselves to see if we could add even more value to our offerings. To that end, we have several centerpiece classes that do double duty: you come and create them right before Thanksgiving, and enjoy them until sometime in December. Bring back the framework and some of the design elements, then refresh them with evergreens and the flowers and fruits of the season so they may last until the New Year. How's that for value?
Is this the year you are ready to make the holidays about creating something special for you and your family? Then please join us. If you don't think anyone will believe you, then let them think you spent hundreds of dollars at a florist. Or why not just invite them to come along? Make the holidays even more memorable by spending time with your mother, daughter, sister or friend. Then you can be in on the secret when their friends start asking "Where did you get that beautiful wreath?
